Singapore, 15 April 2026 — The Singapore Malay Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SMCCI) today hosted Makan and Mesra Raya 2026 at Grantral Mall, bringing together more than 100 members, partners, dignitaries, and stakeholders for a festive gathering that signifies the importance of community, enterprise, and collaboration within the Malay Muslim business ecosystem.
The event also marked the official opening of SMCCI’s second office at Grantral Mall, a new space designed to support business engagement through events, hot desking, and dedicated product showcase opportunities for members. The facility provides a platform for businesses to showcase their offerings, connect with potential partners, and strengthen their market presence in a more accessible, collaborative setting. Held during the Hari Raya festive season, the gathering served as a timely platform for members to reconnect, strengthen networks, and explore new areas of collaboration amid a business landscape that continues to evolve.
SMCCI currently supports a growing network of businesses across sectors, reflecting the increasing demand for platforms that go beyond networking to enable sustained collaboration, visibility, and market access for small and medium enterprises.
Guest of Honour, Senior Minister of State, Zaqy Mohamad, who is also SMCCI Patron, said, “The opening of SMCCI’s second office is a meaningful milestone. It reflects the Chamber’s continued commitment to investing in its growth, expanding its support for members, and strengthening its role as a long-term partner to the business community.”
Dr Abdul Malik Hassan, President of SMCCI, said, “This new space represents more than just a physical office. It marks a step forward in SMCCI’s journey as an organisation. A place where ideas can be shared, partnerships can be formed, and initiatives can come to life.”
Membership Card Launch
At the event, SMCCI also announced the launch of its new membership card, an initiative to enhance member engagement and access across the Chamber’s ecosystem.
The membership card, available in both physical and digital formats, will enable businesses to access SMCCI’s programs, networks, and opportunities more seamlessly. As part of its upcoming membership benefits rollout, SMCCI is exploring ways to harness AI to benefit the Chamber and, more importantly, its members by elevating the member experience, enhancing digital presence, and providing 24/7 support to stakeholders. This will enable SMCCI to offer not only its own services, but also instant access to government policies, incentives, and perks. The Chamber emphasised that the use of AI will be guided by its practical value to members, with a focus on improving service quality and supporting business needs.
As SMCCI expands its physical footprint and strengthens its member offerings, the Chamber is positioning itself to play a more active role in supporting businesses through changing economic conditions, evolving consumer behaviours, and growing regional opportunities, by strengthening capabilities, enabling access, and creating pathways for sustainable growth.
