30 January 2026

Good afternoon Ms Samsiah Suliman, Executive Committee Member of the Singapore Women Entrepreneurs Network under the Singapore Business Federation; Ms Koh Xiao Le, Director of Strategic Partnerships for TACs and Business Networks at the Singapore Business Federation; distinguished guests, partners, members of SBF, SG-WEN and SMCCI, ladies and gentlemen.

A very warm welcome to all of you, and thank you for joining us today.

On behalf of SMCCI and DEWI SMCCI, I would like to express our heartfelt thanks to the Singapore Business Federation for collaborating with us on today’s event. This partnership reflects a shared belief that when organisations come together with a common purpose, we can create meaningful impact for our business community—especially for women entrepreneurs who are looking to grow, scale, and sustain their brands.

For those who may be new to SMCCI, the Singapore Malay Chamber of Commerce and Industry is committed to supporting enterprises through advocacy, capability development, market access, and strategic partnerships. Our focus has always been on helping businesses not just survive, but thrive in an increasingly competitive landscape.

Under SMCCI, DEWI SMCCI specifically champions women entrepreneurs. Our initiatives are designed to provide platforms for learning, mentorship, networking, and collaboration—because we strongly believe that empowering women in business strengthens families, communities, and the broader economy.

Today’s session, “How to Build a Strong Brand and Not Just a Business,” is a reflection of that belief. A strong brand is not built in isolation—it grows through shared knowledge, trusted partnerships, and meaningful connections.

Which brings me to an important point: collaboration is key to growth and scale. No business succeeds alone. By working together—across organisations, industries, and networks—we open doors to new ideas, new markets, and new opportunities. This collaboration between SMCCI, DEWI SMCCI, SBF, and SG-WEN is a clear example of how collective efforts can create value far beyond what any single organisation can achieve.

I hope today’s panel discussion and networking session will spark insightful conversations, inspire new perspectives, and perhaps even plant the seeds for future collaborations among all of you here.

Once again, thank you for being part of this event. I wish you a fruitful and engaging afternoon ahead.

Thank you.
