As part of SMCCI’s ongoing efforts to open new pathways for members, our recent engagement with Jordan Exports at Food & Hospitality Asia (FHA) 2026 has uncovered promising opportunities within the global Halal market.Â
The meeting, facilitated by the Jordan Embassy in Singapore, brought together SMCCI’s Board of Directors and representatives from Jordan Exports. It provided a valuable platform for both parties to exchange insights on their respective markets, business capabilities, and strengths within the Halal sector — with a shared interest in developing mutually beneficial cross-border partnerships.Â
Beyond the discussion, the SMCCI delegation also visited exhibition booths operated by Jordanian businesses at FHA. Members were introduced to a diverse range of products, from traditional delicacies such as kunafa and baklava to chocolates, teas, herbs, spices, and beauty and personal care products. The showcase highlighted the depth and potential of Jordanian offerings within the Halal ecosystem.Â

Jordan is emerging as a promising partner for businesses looking to expand beyond Singapore. For SMCCI members, this presents opportunities to explore new supply chains, diversify offerings, and tap into regional distribution channels.Â
Looking ahead, SMCCI is exploring ways to facilitate these opportunities — including connecting members with verified Jordanian exporters, supporting import and distribution pathways, and enabling access to curated product catalogues. We are also assessing interest for potential business matching sessions and trade collaborations.Â
