On 4 June 2026, SMCCI convened its 67th Annual General Meeting (AGM) at Suntec City Convention Centre, bringing together close to 70 members for an afternoon of reflection, updates, and forward-looking discussion. The AGM served not only as a statutory gathering, but also as an important moment for members to take stock of the Chamber’s progress in 2025 and to understand better the direction SMCCI is taking in the year ahead.

Several key developments were presented during the meeting, including updates to membership pricing, amendments to the SMCCI constitution, and the introduction of the new SMCCI Membership e-card, an exclusive feature designed to enhance connectivity and engagement within the membership network. Members also actively raised questions and concerns during the session, reflecting their continued interest in the Chamber’s governance, priorities, and value proposition. Adding a practical and engaging touch to the event, a corporate profile photo booth was also made available for members who wished to update their professional photographs.

The AGM also marked a moment of appreciation and leadership transition. SMCCI recorded its thanks to Mr Shamir Wahid, who served as Honorary Treasurer for 2025–2026, for his dedication and service to the Chamber. Members were also informed of several key appointments, with Mr Fazli Mansor, Vice President of SMCCI, taking over the role of Honorary Treasurer, Mdm Maslina Mohamed assuming the role of Honorary Secretary, and Mr Hasan Abdul Rahman taking on the position of Assistant Honorary Secretary. These transitions reflect SMCCI’s continued effort to strengthen leadership capacity within the Chamber.

The AGM also provided an opportunity to reflect on the Chamber’s broader impact over the past year. In 2025, SMCCI engaged more than 5,000 businesses and stakeholders through a wide range of capability-building, mentorship, funding, and market access initiatives. In addition, the Chamber facilitated business connections and overseas engagement opportunities for more than 100 enterprises, helping entrepreneurs build capabilities, expand networks, and pursue new avenues for growth. These efforts contributed to the continued development of a vibrant ecosystem comprising 358 active members and 77 Muslim-Owned Enterprise (MOE) certificate holders, reinforcing SMCCI’s role as a catalyst for enterprise growth, collaboration, and business excellence.

One of the most significant outcomes of the AGM was the approval of a constitutional amendment allowing Professional Members to stand for election to the Board. This marked an important step in widening the range of expertise that can contribute to the Chamber’s leadership. As shared during the AGM, Professional Members bring valuable industry knowledge and professional perspectives, and allowing them to contest broadens the diversity of expertise within the Board. More importantly, it creates greater opportunity for subject matter experts to contribute meaningfully to SMCCI and the wider business community.

As SMCCI moves forward, the 67th AGM stands as a reminder that the Chamber’s growth is not only measured by numbers or milestones, but also by its willingness to evolve, strengthen governance, and create more meaningful value for members. With new initiatives, renewed leadership, and a clear commitment to inclusivity and business advancement, SMCCI continues to position itself as a dynamic and relevant platform for the Malay/Muslim business community in Singapore.
