4 June 2026

Distinguished members, Board of Directors, partners, and guests,

As we come to the close of SMCCI’s 67th Annual General Meeting, I would like to sincerely thank all members for your presence, participation, and continued support.

Today’s AGM is not just a statutory meeting. It is also an important reflection of how far we have come together as a Chamber and as a business community.

Over the past year, SMCCI strengthened its support for businesses at different stages of growth by assisting microbusinesses, supporting entrepreneurs through mentorship and seed funding, and creating international business connections through engagements and missions.

Behind every number is a real business, a real entrepreneur, and a real story of resilience, ambition, and growth.

These efforts would not have been possible without the collective support of our Board of Directors, secretariats, partners, volunteers, and most importantly, our members.

I would also like to thank all members for your continued support, contributions, and commitment to SMCCI. Your participation, ideas, and willingness to work together have played an important role in strengthening our Chamber and supporting the growth of our business community.

As business challenges become more complex, it is important that SMCCI continues to evolve and remain relevant.

By creating more opportunities for aspiring and growing entrepreneurs to contribute and participate actively, we strengthen our network, encourage fresh perspectives, and build a more inclusive and resilient business community.

Today also marks another important milestone with the launch of our new membership card and revised membership structure. These initiatives are part of our broader efforts to make SMCCI more accessible, connected, and future-ready.

At the same time, we recognise that businesses are entering a rapidly changing digital landscape. SMCCI will continue exploring practical ways to harness technology and artificial intelligence to improve member experience, strengthen access to information and support, and help businesses navigate change with confidence.

As I have often shared, success today is no longer about “I”, but “we”.

The future of our business community depends on stronger partnerships, stronger collaboration, and a shared commitment to uplifting one another.

Moving forward, SMCCI remains committed to strengthening our role as a platform for growth, connection, capability-building, and opportunity creation for the Malay/Muslim business community.

On behalf of the Board and Secretariat, thank you once again for your trust and continued support.

We look forward to building the next chapter of SMCCI together with all of you.

Thank you and have a pleasant evening.
